Scorsese. De Niro. Gangster Film. That's All You Need to Know

Good news, people. Director Martin Scorsese and actor Robert De Niro are finally working together again for the first time since 1995's Casino. And guess what- they're making another gangster film together. I'm beyond excited.

According to Joblo, Scorsese will be directing a film adaptation of I Heard You Paint Houses by author Charles Brandt. The book is the true life story of Frank "The Irish Man" Sheeran, a mob hitman who claims to have been involved in the whacking of Jimmy Hoffa (whose body still has not been found). Sheeran may have been responsible for more than twenty five mob related murders. Of course, De Niro will be playing the man. I simply cannot wait.

This movie needs to happen and needs to happen fast. I've heard rumors that Scorsese and De Niro were getting back together for a film for a while now but, so far, that has all just been talk. As far as I'm concerned, this movie needs to be next on Scorsese's already over-loaded plate. When those two work together, it's always movie magic (well, the brutal kind of movie magic... but magic nonetheless). I honestly have not seen a movie that Scorsese directed that featured De Niro in some capacity that was not awesome. This material is right up their alley and, honestly, I cannot wait to see what they do with it. And De Niro needs this film more than ever. He really needs to redeem himself after that Righteous Kill crap. As for Pacino... well, he may beyond saving...
To celebrate, here's a montage of clips of Robert De Niro in all of the Martin Scorsese movies he's ever been in cut to "Layla" by Derek and the Dominoes.

Also, since I'm so excited by this news, here's a clip of Robert De Niro in The King of Comedy, which is the most underrated Scorsese film he's ever been in.

Hope you guys enjoyed those clips and are as excited about this news as I am.
