The Dark Knight Makes $155 Million- A Fitting End to Dark Knight Week on YDKS

In case you somehow missed this news (or if you live in a box), Christopher Nolan's masterpiece of comic book cinema made $155 million dollars this past weekend, shattering box office records and taking the place of the undeserving Spider-man 3 as the top grossing opening weekend film of all time. Earlier this weekend, The Dark Knight broke other box office records- the biggest midnight showing opening at $18 million (beating Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith) and the biggest opening day record with $66 million on Friday.

I've said this once and I'll say it again- this film is a monster. It's only appropriate that it is shattering all these box office records because, unlike most films that pull this feat off, The Dark Knight deserves it. It is truly masterful work of film and is totally worthy of all the hype, success, and praise that it has garnered.

Anyways, I saw this bit of news as the perfect piece to end Dark Knight Week here at YDKS Movies with. It's been a really fun (and exhausting) week covering all this stuff and participating in the midnight show. I do have to apologize for never finishing my Batman and Me article (I only posted Part 1) but, hey, I guess you guys can live with it. After all, we did get some fresh articles posted in spite of that, such as our coverage of the midnight show and the Jackson ComiCon.

I hope you guys have enjoyed Dark Knight Week. We will begin to cover movie news other than this film as of now and the site design will return to the way that it was before this week began (though we are keeping the black background due to popular demand). Thanks for reading.

I think you should keep the background black. It really looks good. Just a suggestion.
