Robert Downey Jr. lives at 221B Baker Street!

Robert Downey Jr. has committed to play Sherlock Holmes in director Guy Ritchie's (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch) dramatic take for Warner Brothers which starts shooting in October.

Warner is now amping up production speed to release before Columbia Pictures' comedic take on Sherlock Holmes (currently untitled), which stars Sacha Baron Cohen as Holmes and Will Ferrell as Watson. It is also being produced by Judd Apatow, and written by Ethan Cohen (Tropic Thunder)

I am pretty interested to see both. I think Robert Downey Jr. was a great choice for the role, while I am still a little on the iffy side as to whether or not Sacha Baron Cohen is an actor I particularly like (even though he was awesome in Sweeney Todd).
